The Herman Miller Semi-Annual Sale
For people who love furniture and interior design, one of the most exciting phrases in the English language is "Herman Miller Sale." At Smart Furniture, we are those people. The only thing better than getting an Eames Lounge Chair or a Nelson Swag Leg Desk for your home or office is buying them both at 15 percent off (the general price reduction during the Herman Miller sale). But we don't love the sales just because they save money; they also introduce people to whole new worlds of fine furniture and classic design. By making their products more affordable, the company opens up their massive catalogue to whole new audiences every year. Pretty neat trick, and a benefit to all involved.
The Herman Miller sale is a semi-annual event, with the first sale taking place in early summer, around June. A lot of people move during the summer, and there's nothing better than affordable, high-quality furniture when you're planning the look of your new home. The second sale of the year is generally in early winter, aka right before Christmas, making it the perfect time to buy gifts or, if the spirit is willing, treat yourself to little something from the Herman Miller catalogue. You can plan on spending 15 percent less when you buy at those times.

Probably the most important task is preparing the warehouse, where we store Herman Miller furniture (as well as our own furniture, pieces from other manufacturers, etc.). Of course some items are impossible to stock 100 percent (take the Mirra Chair, which comes in hundreds of thousands of configurations — really). But generally speaking, Smart Furniture will have your item in stock. There's no better time to look for that hard-to-find piece from your favorite Herman Miller collection. But we also stock up on favorites.
Some of the biggest movers during the sale all make perfect holiday gifts and personal buys. The Embody Chair, the world's first health positive work chair, is a big seller. So is the Aeron Chair, the world famous and iconic chair of the dot.com era. Of course, the furniture of Charles and Ray Eames, timeless and classic as ever, also gets a big boost. The Herman Miller sale is a great time of year (twice a year!) for both Smart Furniture and our customers.
