Tokujin YoshiokaTokujin Yoshioka
Born in Saga, Japan in 1967, Tokujin Yoshioka worked under Shiro Kuramata in 1987 and with Issey Miyake since 1988. In 2000, he established his own studio, Tokujin Yoshioka Design. He has also collaborated with various companies both within and outside Japan, such as BMW, Toyota, Hermes, KDDI, and Swarovski. The Ami Ami is Yoshioka's first chair designed for Kartell. The design was inspired by woven fabric in Japan ('ami ami' is Japanese for weaving).
