Marina Home Theater System by BDI
designed by Cristian Wicha
At A Glance:
The Marina home theater cabinet revisits the ultra chic and modern appeal of the 1950's, yet introduces a sleek and updated look that complements any sophisticated home theater or living room setting. A safe harbor for your components, Marina is full of hidden features. Whether the TV is on or off, this high-gloss system will be the focal point of any room!
The Marina Home Theater System's top shelf holds up to 200 lbs, and the interior shelves provide more than enough strength for your components, unless you plan on stacking gold bricks inside. If you do, please take a picture so we can all enjoy the sight of massive amounts of gold in a TV stand.
Recommended TV size: up to a 70" flat panel or rear projection TV.
What's To Like:
This TV stand is low, sized for larger TVs and wider spaces at 73" wide, and features enough space inside for all your components. It's got IR-friendly glass so you'll never need to open the doors to change channels or skip scenes on a DVD. Plus, it just looks dang cool!
What's Not to Like:
While the Marina Home Theater System does many things well, it's an expensive solution. We think it's worth the money, with its superb functionality and awesome looks - but it's still pricey.
The Bottom Line:
The Marina Home Theater System is a multi-functional media cabinet that is well-suited for anyone with a large space (especially if you want the space to look really slick) who wants to conceal components without losing use of the remote control.

- Adjustable Shelves
Middle adjustable shelves can fit a variety of different sized media units
- Bulit-in Ventilation
Flow through design permits air flow, prolonging component life
- Sturdy Tempered Glass
Marina's tempered glass is virtually unbreakable, allowing heavier items to be used

About the Manufacturer
Becker Designed Inc. was founded in 1984 by Bill Becker with the goal of making top-notch modern furniture design accessible to the public. Today, BDI is best know for its home entertainment systems, but it has also applied its vision and craftsmanship in its lines of tables, shelving, and mirrors. BDI is located in Chantilly, Virginia.
Although his designs are inspired by the works of mid-century modern masters, Cristian's designs are clearly 21st century. Cristian looks at furniture design as an extension of the sculptor's art. A perspective that is reflected in his designs which always tend to push the limits of conventional thought.
