Pedigree is often costly, and the Bertoia Bench fits that description.
There's no cushion on this bench. But seriously, that's such a minor thing we almost cringe to write it.
The Bottom Line: The Bertoia Bench has become a classic, as surely all of his wire furniture has, and no home deserves to be left out.

Harry Bertoia is an Italian designer best known (and justly famous) for his Bertoia Diamond Lounge Chair, and the whole series of chairs and tables that followed from that design. A proponent of leaving space and air in his designs, Bertoia was a pioneer in using bent steel as a design tool and material, which led to the creation of durable, reproducable, and delicate looking chairs and tables. Bertoia is in the pantheon of great designers.
Materials: The Bertoia Bench platform is solid wood horizontal slats pre-treated to prevent warping or sagging. The slats are in a black or white painted finish. Frame is made from welded steel rods with a polished chrome finish.
