I was looking for a more tailor made shelf to fit a cubed basketball display case. This was the perfect size to hold an 11-inch cubed glass case and was non-obtrusive. I also liked the color options that were available for the mounting bracket. Bracket colors and design would blend in well in a contemporary or traditional setting.

These shelves are both terrific looking and very functional - the clean look of floating shelves minus the frustrating installation typically needed. I almost purchased vertical 'bracketed' shelving until i found these - the choice of colors in shelves and brackets was perfect for our home office remodel. I am overall very happy with these shelves. They were the right dimensions and a fair price. Shelves are very heavy and have a tough and attractive veneer. My only "con" is that the anchors supplied with the shelves were completely insufficient to use as directed. I had to purchase larger and more secure anchors to achieve a sturdy fit. Otherwise, they really look great on my wall and really do accomplish everything I had bought them for.

I have now purchased four of these shelves.. It looked so good on our wall at our vacation house, I ordered two more and am getting ready to order more. What I really liked was that it was available in a 8" depth--something hard to find in floating shelves. We use two of them for organizing our DVDs. I needed a shelf that would hold a bit of weight since I was using it to hold a large center channel speaker and this thing holds as much weight as advertised and looks good while doing it.
The only con to the product would be that the shelf has to be aligned perfectly before placing the tape on the shelf and installing it to the wall. There is no margin for error on the shelf end caps.

I have 3 of the Classique Wall Shelves: (2)8X16 in black holding my Klipsch surround speakers (20 lbs each) in my basement home theater. I returned to Smart Furniture a few months later and added (1)12x16 in black to hold my my power amplifier (36 lbs) in my basement home theater. I am no handy-man (wife calls me "Tim Taylor"), but I installed these without a hitch. Very good quality shelf and bracket, all for a very good price. Also, wife approved. :-)

These shelves are absolutely beautiful and functional. I put them in my home office and they are strong enough to hold two printers and a case of paper. Everyone who has seen them loves them as well and several have said they will buy them soon.

I ordered these shelves at 4:19 on Monday and they were on my porch when I went to get my newspaper on Wednesday at 8:00 am (and I don't live in Tennesee! It doesn't get any better than that. I am trying to find two shelves that can make an "L" shape. And that can hold some weight. It is for a laundry room. Would these shelves be able to make a clean "L" shape when installed together or would there be a lot of space between them where they meet?
You could actually mount two Classique Wall Shelves into an L shape fairly seamlessly. There are plastic end caps that go on the brackets at the ends that can be left off to get them to flush up to shelves mounted adjacently. Q:
My interior studs are spaced 24" apart instead of 16". Does this shelving system allow for this, or are all the holes 16" spaced?
There are holes every few inches to allow for perfect hardware placement on the bracket. Depending on what size shelf is purchase is how you will be able to mount to the wall.

Is the bracket pictured in silver or pewter? What is the difference between the two? I want a matte finish!
There is a big difference. Iron is basically black. If you are getting a black shelf and want a black bracket get Iron. It will be the closest match. Bronze is like the color of a tarnished old penny. A dark brown color.

Yes, there are two silver clips, called aligner clips, that are included with each shelf and used to help level multiple shelves that are installed side by side. When used properly the multiple shelves appear as one shelf.

Can I get a copy of the installation instructions for these shelves please? Specifically I need to know how to properly use the aligner clips to re-hang them. My shelf was taken out of the bracket; now we can not figure out how to properly use the aligner clips to secure it back into the bracket.

Q:
I would like to paint the shelves a different color than what you offer-would this affect any part of installation or warranty for the shelves? What color do you think would create the least amount of problems if painting a different color?
Installation would remain the same, but warranty for the shelf only (not the bracket) would be voided. I would order the shelf in black or white as they have a painted finish and will be easy to sand and repaint.

The two silver clips are called aligner clips, and are used to help level multiple shelves that are installed side by side. The sticker strips adhere to the top back edge of the shelf, and because they are double-sided when you place the shelf in the bracket, they also stick to the top of the slot where the shelf slides in.
