The Gigi Barstool was designed by Italian Marco Maran, a man often feted for his lighthearted and utilitarian designs. This chair is perfect for bars, home entertainment areas, and any congregational or hospitality area. Also available in the Gigi family are the Gigi Chair and the Gigi Swivel Chair.
Marco Maran knows good design, and he sets about creating pieces that offer flexibility while maintaining their contemporary appearance. Born in Siena, Italy, Maran studied and trained as an architect and industrial designer. He has designed several chairs for Knoll, including the Gigi stacking chair, Gigi swivel chair, and Gigi barstool. Maran is the recipient of numerous awards including the GOOD DESIGN award of Chicago, the Best Young Designer Award, and a Product Design Achievement Award from IIDA. His most prominent interior design was showcased in 1998 in the Press Room for the World Cup held in Paris, France.
