This bench is more than just a place to sit. It's also a great piece of organizational and storage furniture. The top of the bench is divided into two sections, one a padded bench and the other, smaller section of hard top storage cabinet complete with drawers. There were plans to include a shoe shine bar, but they were scrapped as "too much."
 What's to Like:You can always trust products that are made at Herman Miller. This is also one of those products that succeeds beautifully at doing two things at once, a rare quality. Sit down on the bench to take off your shoes, then store them in the hardtop. Lift the bench top and store clothes, blankets, or anything else you've a mind to squirrel away. There are a few different colors to choose from for the padded section.
What's Not to Like:It's pretty big and heavy for a bench that's meant to go in the home. It can be a pain to move around - but benches pretty much stay put, right?

It stores all kinds of things efficiently - so you can actually find them when you need them - while looking great and providing both a soft place to sit and a hard top that can hold drinks and snacks or small office equipment. While the bench was designed to be a residential piece for use anywhere in the home, it's highly functional for the home office. It contains plenty of file storage without looking like it. At the same time, the bench handles residential needs, including linen storage and hospitality. Its design is modern, yet the bench complements classic pieces by designer included in the Herman Miller Lifework collection. And though the look is elegant, BluDot designed Cognita to be a subtle presence that doesn't draw too much attention to itself.
