What's To Like:
Wood and white: the combination that makes us all week in the knees, with fluttering hearts and longing looks. "I want that in my home," we all say. It's beautiful.
We think this media console's sliding panel just cool - and its two large compartments are a great idea as well, since there are so many times when all you want is a big space to put things into. Those of us who don't have a ton of media equipment can identify with that.
What's Not to Like:
This is not an entertainment center that will keep your kids out of it. That's not a negative - it's just an observation.
Small children, when left to themselves, draw on things. The white surface of the sliding panel may turn out to be a marker magnet.
The Bottom Line: The LAX Series Entertainment Shelf by MASHstudios, with its solid English Walnut construction and white powder-coated aluminum sliding panel, is beautiful, balanced, and brightens any minimalist space while retaining full media console functionality.

This is a wonderful piece. It looks great and best of all is all real wood (except for the door). The wood looks so natural and fits well in a modern design. And, honestly, I love the simple design. I really dislike doors that cover components or those that use glass as a way to access the components, but I don't want my media console to look like a short bookcase either. For me, the sliding door is perfect. It is so convenient to have the components exposed so that I don't have to open the door to use them. Oh and it looks fantastic. I am so happy with my purchase.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery team was good. Unfortunately, I had a damaged door. They pack it so well (a box within a box) that I was rather surprised. But things happen. Smart Furniture was quick to respond, worked well with the manufacturer and got my replacement door to me fairly quickly. I have purchased from Smart Furniture in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

Great quality. Solid wood construction is rare these days. Minimal assembly required (just the legs and shelves). I'm very pleased with this product.
Materials: Solid English Walnut frame with natural oil finish with a powder coated aluminum sliding panel.

Cleaning and Care For simple cleaning, use a damp cloth with a mild detergent. Over time, you may want to refinish the surface with a refinishing agent to regain its original luster. For this we recommend Scott's Liquid Gold. Pour a small amount onto a rag and wipe the entire surface until you have an even finish. Do not pour the cleaner directly onto the furniture as this can result in an uneven coat or discolor the wood.
If your furniture develops stains like a watermark from a glass, use 220 grit sandpaper and lightly sand the wood until the stain dissapears. For best results, follow this with a treatment of Linseed Oil to refinish the surface to its original quality.
Try to keep the piece out of direct sunlight if possible. It is wood's natural property to darken over time when exposed to sunlight, so if an object is left on your LAX furniture and left in the sun for a long time, the covered surface will appear lighter once the object is moved. This light spot will take time to blend back into the surrounding area and may never be fully as dark. Also, don't put hot stuff like pots and pans directly on the wood.
The materials that go into every LAX Series piece are meticulously selected for their quality and positive environmental impact. Each piece of furniture is made of solid English Walnut, free of formaldehyde glue and other toxins. By using an engineered wood, the LAX Series is able to maximize the yield from each tree and virtually eliminate waste. All of the pieces are sealed with a natural oil finish made from linseed oil that is VOC-free and solvent free. The aluminum sliding doors, an integral part of the LAX series design, are all made of 100 percent recyclable, powder-coated aluminum.
