We love on-the-floor beds; they add a modern, minimalist touch to any bedroom, and the LAX Platform Bed is one of our favorites for its strict, no-frills minimalism.
But minimalist doesn't mean "heartless," does it. Warm wood and rich oil finish bring a very natural, homey feel to this platform bed.
The headboard does just what we wish our headboards did - eliminates the need for clutter-y nightstands by replacing them altogether as closed storage for your bedside essentials.
Slots in the platform help your mattress "breathe" and keep it fresh.
What's Not to Like:
If you have difficulty getting up from a low sitting position, you'll want to steer clear of this bed. At just 6" off the ground, it's not for everyone.

Materials: Both king bed platform and wall mounted headboard are made of solid English Walnut construction. Sliding panel is made of powder-coated aluminum.

Cleaning and Care For simple cleaning, use a damp cloth with a mild detergent. Over time, you may want to refinish the surface with a refinishing agent to regain its original luster. For this we recommend Scott's Liquid Gold. Pour a small amount onto a rag and wipe the entire surface until you have an even finish. Do not pour the cleaner directly onto the furniture as this can result in an uneven coat or discolor the wood.
If your furniture develops stains like a watermark from a glass, use 220 grit sandpaper and lightly sand the wood until the stain dissapears. For best results, follow this with a treatment of Linseed Oil to refinish the surface to its original quality.
Try to keep the piece out of direct sunlight if possible. It is wood's natural property to darken over time when exposed to sunlight, so if an object is left on your LAX furniture and left in the sun for a long time, the covered surface will appear lighter once the object is moved. This light spot will take time to blend back into the surrounding area and may never be fully as dark. Also, don't put hot stuff like pots and pans directly on the wood.
The materials that go into every LAX Series piece are meticulously selected for their quality and positive environmental impact. Each piece of furniture is made of solid English Walnut, free of formaldehyde glue and other toxins. By using an engineered wood, the LAX Series is able to maximize the yield from each tree and virtually eliminate waste. All of the pieces are sealed with a natural oil finish made from linseed oil that is VOC-free and solvent free. The aluminum sliding doors, an integral part of the LAX series design, are all made of 100 percent recyclable, powder-coated aluminum.
