Landa Floating Wall Shelf

The Landa Wall Shelf is a floating shelf, with no visible brackets when you mount it on your wall. They are available in only a few colors. White, Black, and Espresso form the color palette for a refined wall shelf. The Landa Wall Shelf comes in white, black and Espresso and boasts no visible brackets when mounted on your wall. These floating shelves are 2" thick and come in lengths from 24-48". They can hold up to 20 pounds and are ideal for anything from photos and books to kitchen spices and cooking utensils.

What's to Like:

The look of the shelves is undeniably stylish. They aren't too thick, they vary between 24" and 48" inches long, and they definitely have that floating look modern designers love.

What's Not to Like:

They only hold 20 lbs, one of the lowest strength ratings among floating shelves on our site. But they do look great.

Bottom Line:

Not particularly strong floating shelving, that makes up strength deficiencies with undeniable style.

Great Looking Shelves

These shelves are nearly perfect in looks, size and strength (I hung two above the toilet). They're great for a variety of bathroom accessories and they have a clean, contemporary feel.

Hanging them was easy, until it came time to secure the shelves to the support bracket. One of the predrilled support holes, on each shelf, did not align with its corresponding hole on the bracket. As a workaround, the screw had to go in on an angle, leaving the head of the screw sticking out a bit from the surface (the others were flush).

The screw covers are adhesive circles. The concept is perfect, but the material needs to be improved. They're flimsy and the adhesive is not strong enough. Also, the color doesn't match the shelves exactly. A little heavier weight and a better color, and they would be fantastic and virtually invisible.

All in all, I'm very happy with the shelves and would recommend them and even buy them again for another project.

Terrible shelves

The delivery time was great! We ordered them right before the holidays and got them very quickly. When we tried to hang them we were greatly disappointed. The shelves were poorly made and didn't hang level on the wall. It would either slope forward toward the ground or up toward the ceiling. We tried to bend the prongs but they were welded unevenly. Needless to say they looked terrible on the wall and we returned them very upset. The refund came quickly at least.

I had been looking for a table for my entryway but couldn't find one narrow enough. I installed this shelf waist-high in my entryway as a substitute for a table. I'm very pleased with how it looks. It was very easy to install, especially for someone who has never used a powerdrill.

Service and delivery comments:

Customer service was excellent. The first shelf I received had very small scratches on the surface; I called customer service and they had a new one sent to my house.

I would definitely recommend this shelf and SmartFurniture

The shelves should be so easy to install. However when you install the bracket on the wall correctly and level the shelf does not sit on the bracket level. THERE IS ADJUSTMENT AT ALL TO FIX THIS! I WOULD NOT BUY THIS ITEM AGAIN!

We use this to display wedding pictures out of toddler's reach. Order arrived promptly, but the finish was damaged in a conspicuous place. I did receive impressive and prompt service from th company, who immediately sent a replacement. Unfortuneately the replacement is damaged in he same spot. I give up.

  There's no grain visible at all. It's not a shiny finish either. It's more of a blend of eggshell and semi-gloss. Also, it looks like it's been spray painted with a very fine mist and that it would scratch easily. Just got mine so I'm just guessing on that last one.

  You can not cut the Landa down to fit smaller spaces. It has a hidden bracketing system, and is made for each size shelf.

Is the hardware on these types of shelves universal? I already have a floating shelf up but it too shallow. I want to replace it with a deeper one. Can I just pop off the shallow shelf and pop in one of your deeper shelves using the same hardware that's mounted? Thanks.

  Unfortunately, no. I have seen the hardware very different on different shelves. Its like when you go to the hardware store and don't bring the broken part you need and you think "surely these are all standard" and there are 47 different sizes. You might get lucky though.
