Mr. Impossible Chair by Kartell
designed by Philippe Starck
This inviting chair has an organic design that invokes comfort, neatness and style. Mr. Impossible is the combination of sophisticated design and advanced plastic processing. It takes on a new technological challenge with highly advanced techniques that consist of the welding of two shells - the transparent structure and the seat - into one full-colored and translucent piece, making Mr. Impossible virtually indestructible and creating a truly beautiful effect. The seal of the two oval shells gives the plastic a bi-color and three-dimensional effect.

Environmental InformationContrary to the common idea, products in plastic materials are highly ecological for the reason that they can be recycled (with the exception of polyurethane, little used in Kartell products). Thus, Kartell seating can be easily recycled. In order to simplify the recycling process, the various components of Kartell products can be easily separated and reduced to elements made of one single material. Moreover, the plastic parts of each product carry, clearly printed, an identification mark to determine the correct classification of the different kinds of plastic and their effective recycling.

DesignerFew designers have had an impact across the world of design like Philippe Starck. From modern furniture, restaurant interiors, to architecture, the French icon has made lasting impressions to all those exposed to his work. However, his most influential designs have been in the world of staggeringly original mass produced consumer goods.
Renowned for his collaboration with the Italian design and manufacturing firm Kartell, Mr. Stark's most famous works include the Ghost Chair series, the Bubble Club group, and the Mr. Impossible Chair. Despite all his past achievements, he is still highly active in the world of modern design.
Born in 1972, Eugeni Quitllet started studying design at the Ibiza art school in 1991. He received a diploma of design and interior design at "La Llotja" art school in Barcelona in 1996.
