Sequel Lateral File Cabinet by BDI designed by Matthew Weatherly
At A Glance: The Sequel Lateral File Cabinet is, as the name cleverly implies, a sequel to some of the other office system parts in the Sequel series. It's free-standing, and it has a clever and secure opening and closing system, as well as a lock. The lateral file can hold hundreds of letter or legal size files with ease, and look great next to your desk at the same time.

What's To Like: The look of this file cabinet is beyond reproach, and it's one of the few free-standing additions to the Sequel family of furniture. Handsome and useful on its own, it still looks great as part of a team.
What's Not to Like: Price. For a simple filing solution, this lateral file could be pretty steep for some buyers. Although it does fit perfectly with the rest of the Sequel system.
The Bottom Line: The Lateral File is a pricey but valuable addition to the Sequel workspace. The locking Lateral File Cabinet offers secure storage for legal and/or letter-sized files in its two generously sized drawers. For safety, the drawers include interlocking anti-tip hardware, allowing only one drawer to open at a time and a counterweight for stability. Alternate lock and key sets are available separately.
