Shelton & Mindel Side Chair by Knoll
designed by Peter Shelton & Lee Mindel
The Shelton Mindel Side Chair, closely related to a traditional "banker's chair" but revamped and stylized for comfort and versatility, has made a name for itself among current office furniture. Designed for offices, private spaces and dining applications, the Shelton & Mindel Side Chair is as utilitarian as it is versatile and handsome.
The Shelton & Mindel Side Chair is a "transparent" chair. Nothing of the design or the function is hidden or left to the imagination. The machinations behind the creation of the chair have been exposed, turning the design inside out and providing users with a sculptural blueprint of their chairs. Available with an upholstered inner shell for optimum comfort. The designer's celebration of materials, joinery and finishes results in an honest approach to seating, combining restraint and functionality.
