The Sunrise Stressless Chair is another excellent recliner design from the people at Ekornes, the Norwegian furniture company that produces the Stressless Chair line. The Sunrise Stressless Chair has many of the features of its brothers and sisters, including the Glide system, the Plus system, and 360 degree rotation, but it's also distinctive and attractive in it's own right. The fine workmanship evidenced in the upholstery and the well-wrought base both call attention to the luxurious and elegant character of the chair. Organized on horizontal rather than vertical lines and design principles, the Sunrise Stressless Chair is an original in the Ekornes line. The rich padding that combines with the leather to produce that unmistakable Stressless feeling is "stretched" over the backing, rather than along the more up and down lines adopted by much of the rest of the series. The three things most essential to any Ekornes chair are comfort, support, and style. The simplicity of the upholstery is broken ony a few times with horizontal lines at the top of the chair. The seat pad is more dramatically curved at the edge than normal, producing a wave-like effect while at the same time beckoning users to sit.
