Q: I like the look of your picture. What product is the bottom drawer/cabinet? Asked on 2/6/2012 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: I'm sorry we do not carry the cabinets below the shelves. Answered on 2/7/2012 by Anonymous
Q: How can you plug electronics into the wall without the cords draping down in front of the shelves? In other words, how can you get the cords behind the shelves? Asked on 10/18/2011 by Karen from Mckinney, Tx Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: You can't Answered on 2/10/2012 by J from NYC A: You can drill a hole where you need in each shelf to allow the cords to drop on the back side of each shelf. Answered on 10/18/2011 by Anonymous
Q: Is the finish on the shelf suitable for commercial use? I prefer floating shelves to store/display our glasses, tea sets, fruit, yet the surface must be non-porous to pass health code. Can these shelves be re-painted, should they begin to show ware? Asked on 7/30/2011 by nectar from kdh, nc Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Yes, and should they wear you can repaint them. Answered on 8/1/2011 by Melanie from Smart Furniture
Q: I just received my shelf and am trying to mount it to the wall, what are the little sticky white strips that came with it? Asked on 4/22/2011 by Anonymous Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: In the bag of tools with the bracket there is a strip of 2 sided little pieces – very thin. The strip has 4 separate pieces on it cut about ½” wide and ¾” long. If these are applied to the top edge of the shelf where the shelf sits in the bracket, (or the edge of the bracket where the shelf sits) it helps reduce some of that leverage applied and therefore also any forward leaning. You only use these if you need them, they are not necessary if your shelf is level. Answered on 4/22/2011 by Melanie from Smart Furniture A: I didn't use them. The best way I found to mount it is to go to a hardware store and buy mollies with machine head screws about 3 in long and the same diameter as the screws that came with it. Answered on 6/4/2011 by Donrtomp from Camdenton, MO
Q: In the in-room picture of the Sumo shelves, is the long run of shelving made up of several separate shelves (perfectly aligned)? For example, if I want a run of 3 feet of 16" deep shelving, do I buy 2 18" shelves? Asked on 2/11/2011 by Majolica from Ohio Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: Yes, that is exactly correct. Answered on 2/11/2011 by Melanie from Smart Furniture
Q: since most - and my - wall studs are 16" oc, I will need to use the hole set of the left 12" from center mounting hole and the right 4" from center mounting hole - will these be enough to support 25 lbs of dvd and satellite dish unit cause none of your other 2 holes are of any help in getting to the other studs? Asked on 1/27/2011 by Jerry from CA Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: You are correct, studs are typically placed 16" on center, but sometimes also at 12" (for earthquake rattled California) or 24" (when 2x6's are used instead of 2x4's). You will be perfectly fine mounting the two screws into studs and the others with drywall anchors to support the shelf. Also, you are free to drill extra holes in the extruded aluminum bracket to best suit your mounting needs. Most likely not necessary given the weight you plan to put on the shelf, but an option nonetheless. Answered on 1/27/2011 by Melanie from Smart Furniture
