by Tim Culvahouse(Editor), Richard Barnes(Photographer), Howard H. Baker(Afterword),Jennifer Bloomer (Author), Steven Heller (Author), Barry M. Katz (Author), Christine Macy (Author), Todd Smith (Author), Jane Wolff (Author)

The Tennessee Valley Authority: Design and Persuasion-a unique collection of essays by experts in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, graphic design, industrial design, and fine arts, and including new photography by Richard Barnes and an afterword by former Senator Howard H. Baker, Jr., specially examines the design work of the agency. The extraordinary elegance and power of the artificial landscape brought by the TVA's designs captured the imagination of everyone who saw them. They not only promised social and economic renewal but also shaped the nascent American design culture that would come to define twentieth-century architecture and design.
