Luke Golden Developer Meet Luke, one of the stalwarts of our IT/Development team and all-around nice guy. Being a 4th-degree black belt in the art of Tae Kwan Do, he was once the National Board Breaking Champion with a personal best of breaking 15 boards at one time. He's not what you call "great" at catching things, but we don't really give him a hard time about it... for the most part. Okay, maybe a little bit. Honestly, we give him grief almost every day! Luke loves the relaxed working environment here at Smart Furniture, saying "What's not unique about working here? I can come to work wearing short and flip flops and not get sent home. I have had my dog (a Great Dane, nonetheless) pull over my desk and not gotten fired. Yet, even with all of that everyone will buckle down and do what needs to be done to not only meet, but exceed, all expectations." Here are some other fun tidbits about Luke: Favorite Quote? "I hate to be lame and not have any, but I really can't think of any right now. If I figure one out, I'll change it!" -- Luke If you could converse with any historical figure, who would it be and why? "This is a tough one. I guess if I had to pick, C.S. Lewis would be pretty amazing to meet with." Something about you that not a lot of people know about? "I used to be able to pick up a guitar with my toes. Don't know if I still can, though." Why did you join Smart Furniture? "Smart Furniture seemed like the type of company I wouldn't get bored at, and that's been true. I love the innovation and the idea that we can always do better." What has been one of the most rewarding experiences while working here? "Just the continuing effort and success that we've had. Growth when everyone else was declining. Everyone wants what they do for a living to matter and it feels like that here for me." Luke's Favorites Embody Chair I love the Embody Chair. It says something about a chair that I can sit in it for as long as I do and not be sore.
