With regard to wearability and durablity Volo and Vicenza are identical. Both are an aniline leather with a corrected grain. Both receive a special retannage which enriches the leather, tightens the grain and provides a superior hand. The difference is this: Volo has a raised pebble finish and Vicenza has a smoother look and feel.
Before the tanned leather is finished, it is first retanned, dyed and fatliquored. It may also be extended in a special operation to make the tough old cow hide into a soft and supple material.
