Shelf shapes:
You can design Smart Furniture units, or a whole layout to just about any shape and size you can imagine. The basic building blocks, or components, come in rectangular, curved, round and square shapes, and can be combined to form infinite shapes and sizes to meet your needs. Pictured below is a unit made from standard rectangular components.
Shelf spacing:
Both vertically and horizontally, interior distances include 5-3/8" (perfect for CDs), 11-3/8" (the most common), 17-3/8", and 23-3/8". When two units are stacked or connected, the resulting interior space at that junction is the standard 11-3/8”, which creates a clean, regularly spaced arrangement.
Shelf thickness:
Standard Smart Furniture measures 5/8" thick which is strong enough to hold hundreds of pounds each shelf. A 3⁄4" thick and 12" deep version is also available at certain volumes.
Shelf length:
Three lengths are available – 1', 2', and 3' – all of which can be stacked and connected infinitely to achieve almost any dimension you need. Additionally, 4' x 2' and several curved/contoured components are available.
Shelf depth:
Standard components are 9-1/2" deep, but deeper units can be created using our 1' deep components (12" depth components are also available in maple finish).
