Delano Chair
by Gus Modern

Delano Chair At A Glance:
One of Gus' classic models, the Delano Chair features an architectural silhouette. This modern lounge chair's combination of blind-tufted leather seat and back cushions atop a square, stainless steel frame is hard to miss in any setting. The lack of a supporting column underneath the seat gives the appearance that the chair is floating.

What's To Like:

  • Bold? Willing to take a chance? Then this is your chair. We love its square/angled design and "floating" seat.
  • This chair is from the same vein that the Wassily Chair and MR Side Chair come from. Classic is as classic does, and the Delano Chair does classic.
  • Steel frame will stand up to all the abuse you'll be (unintentionally) subjecting this chair to.

What's Not to Like:
For some, the metal frame's squared-off lines may be a stylistic miss. For others, that same mixture may be a hit. You know what they say about the eye of the beholder.

The Bottom Line:
The Delano Chair is a breath of fresh air in a sometimes stale design environment. Minimalist, simple, quality materials, comfortable ... Gus Modern has designed a great modern lounge chair.

    Shipping & Delivery

Options are good. Here are your 3 shipping options:

    Curbside Delivery: $44.75

We use curbside service anytime an item is too large or too fragile to ship with Ups or FedEx. The shipping companies we use may not be household names like and FedEx, but they are committed to providing you with an equally awesome experience. With curbside service, your item will be left at the curb, just inside your driveway or placed next to your front door. When your order arrives to the station in your area, you will be contacted to schedule a delivery day and time. An appointment will be made prior to delivery and a signature will be required. Please note that this service does not include product placement inside your home or office, so be prepared. If you want to save a little money on shipping and have friends to help you move and unpack, this is your best option.

    Inside Delivery (recommended): $59.00

Inside delivery is a cost effective way to have large, heavy items delivered inside your home or office when you just do not want to be bothered by moving and lifting. We recommend inside delivery because this item is either extremely large, extremely heavy or ships in multiple boxes. When your order reaches the local station in your area, you will be contacted to schedule a delivery appointment (with a 4 hour window). The driver will place the item inside your home and do all of the heavy lifting for you!

    White Glove Delivery: $99.00

White Glove Delivery is our most comprehensive delivery service option and can be added to your order for an additional $99 per item (plus the 5% we are required to charge by Gus*). When your furniture reaches the local station in your area, the delivery agent will call the number you provided to us when you ordered to schedule a four hour delivery appointment. The driver will carefully bring the item inside and place it in your room of choice (two flights of stairs max), unpack, perform light assembly if required (up to 30 minutes without tools), and remove any debris. Keep in mind that the driver will take away the packaging, but if you have any doubts ask them to keep the box. Returns and exchanges with Smart Furniture are easy as long as you hang on to the original packaging.

    Standard Shipping Rate:
    5% of the merchandise value
    (within the Contiguous United States)

Service includes delivery of small, lightweight, well packaged items right to your door (or front lobby if you live in an apartment building). We use FedEx or UPS because they are the best in the business. Deliveries are generally made within 2-6 days from the time your order ships, and occur Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. This service does not come with a delivery appointment; however, real time tracking information is provided and can be used to monitor your order. We also insure every package to give you added piece of mind.

    Shipping Upgrades:
    Inside Delivery: $100 per item
    White Glove: $150 per item
