Both the Queen and King LAX Series Platform beds' tops are constructed of multiple slats, which sit inside the lip of the bed frame itself.
Each of these slats fit flush together, and feature hand-hold cutouts in their centers so they can be installed and removed easily. (It should be noted that these slats are constructed of a veneer that matches the visual wood tone of the English Walnut frame, skeleton, and drawers.)
Though there is no formal weight rating on how much weight the bed can hold, the slats provide a completely solid flat surface that the manufacturer estimates holds roughly 600 lbs., and the headboard is rated to hold up to 90 lbs. if mounted correctly on the wall.
