Stone Stool by Kartell
designed by Marcel Wanders

A simple shape with a very precious appearance. Made with an essential symmetrical linear shape which is reminiscent of an hourglass, its surface is simply extraordinary: it's irregular and comprised of a myriad of geometrical facets which reflect the light and create a striking and unique play of colors, much like a diamond. Because of its jewel-like nature, Stone is offered in the colors of the precious stones. Stone may also be used as an elegant side table.

Materials & Measurements

Materials: Transparent or batch-dyed polycarbonate

Dimensions: 18" h x 13.3" diameter

Environmental Information

Contrary to the common idea, products in plastic materials are highly ecological for the reason that they can be recycled (with the exception of polyurethane, little used in Kartell products). Thus, Kartell products can be easily recycled. In order to simplify the recycling process, the various components of Kartell products can be easily separated and reduced to elements made of one single material. Moreover, the plastic parts of each product carry, clearly printed, an identification mark to determine the correct classification of the different kinds of plastic and their effective recycling.

    Comments about Kartell Stone Stool:

I love creative and multi-functional design. Drawn to this b/c it can be used for seating or as a little table for flowers or a sculpture piece, etc. Or simply as decoration. The blue is wonderful. In front of a window the prisms sparkle and I think of surface diving in a mountain lake. I'm going to get another one and stack them. In fact, if I had the $$$ and space I could see several of them put together in an "arrangement". So practical and so beautiful!
