Magis Chair_One Stacking, Set of 2
designed by Konstantin Grcic
Does this chair look comfortable? Well, whether your eyes believe it or not, it is - and it's nothing short of sculpture. Setting out to create a chair with the least material possible, designer Grcic came up with a structural aluminum construction that fills little space and is sure to leave an impression. Chair_One is stackable, and can be used for almost any application in your home - dining chair, side chair - the only one who won't be able to use it is the family dog.

About the Designer
|Konstantin Grcic has loved to build things his whole life, starting work for a furniture restorer as soon as he graduated from high school. One thing led to another, and soon he found himself at the Royal College of Art in London, pursuing his newly-discovered passion of designing furniture. His work is notable for three aspects: logical thought, honest materials, and respect for production methods, and he has done work for many well-known clients. Upon working with Magis, he set out to make the most material-free chair possible: Chair_One. It ended up in the permanent collections of many great museums, including MoMA in New York. He takes his work seriously, and considers it a great responsibility - and one he loves.|
About the Manufacturer
Magis is an Italian furniture company that puts a high emphasis on design and technological innovation. Its products often find themselves on the cutting edge of both design and structural composition - many times almost as a byproduct of the designer's standards of what is good and necessary in a useful chair or table. Magis seeks to create items that can be used in any room of the home (indoors or outdoors) and add beauty anywhere. Founded in 1976 and continuing to operate as a factory-free organization, Magis uses local contractors and outsources its manufacturing to create greater flexibility in the design process.
