designed by Antonio Citterio
At A Glance:
The Grand Repos Lounge Chair is a highly attractive, refined lounge chair that has been developed with the purpose of making the entire seated experience flexible and superbly refined. With its generous padding and continuously adjustable sitting positions, this lounge makes relaxing as comfortable and effortless as it was meant to be.
What's to Like:
- Full biomechanical range of motion
The angle of the Grand Repos Lounge Chair's seat and backrest change synchronously with an invisible mechanism, and the chair can be locked in any position of recline.
- Wide armrests & Wing Back
More than simply attractive, the armrests and wing back are functional and comfortable to enhance your lounging experience.
- Body-contoured lumbar back support
Sitting in a lounge chair can be uncomfortable if it was made with merely appearance in mind. Not the Grand Repos Lounge Chair, however. It's made structurally more like a task chair that's meant to be sat in for long periods of time, and the requisite back support is built in.
- Optional ottoman
Slim and attractive, the ottoman is upholstered in the same material as the lounge chair and features a polished base similar to the chair.

About the Manufacturer
Vitra has manufactured furniture designs by Charles & Ray Eames and George Nelson since 1957. Building on this foundation over the years, the company has developed a wide range of furnishings for the office, for the home and for public spaces in collaboration with progressive designers.
Founded in 1950 as a family-owned company, Vitra is known as more than just a design-oriented manufacturing company. The name also brings to mind the Vitra Design Museum, as well as a collection of modern furniture and its accompanying archive, workshops and publications on topics of design, and an architectural concept that unites buildings by Frank Gehry, Nicholas Grimshaw, Zaha Hadid, Tadao Ando, Alvaro Siza, Herzog & de Meuron and SANAA at the Vitra Headquarters in Birsfelden (Switzerland) and on the Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein (Germany).
