Whether its polycarbonate chairs, polyethylene sofas, or polypropylene furniture, no other furniture manufacturer has the creative boldness to craft traditional furniture items out of revolutionary materials.

This penchant for doing things differently stands out in a number of Kartell's bestsellers- such as the Bubble Club group and the Ghost Chair series.

Collaborating with Kartell are world famous designers including Ron Arad, Ronand and Erwan Bouroullec, Anna Castelli Ferrieri, and Philippe Starck. Kartell tables and chairs, such as the Four Table crafted by Ferruccio Laviani, come in multiple finishes, sizes, and materials, giving shoppers the ability to choose what's just right for them. Kartell's designers recognize that modern furniture often means modular furniture. Together with Kartell, these designers have developed a a special intuition through dialogue and the continual exchange of design ideas. Kartell chairs and lighting created under this framework personify vivid creativity and the bold pursuit of something original.

Numerous bestsellers have had success because they exemplify the melding or established forms with technologically new materials. Many Kartell lighting products match this criteria, such as the Bourgie Lamp. This lamp takes a classic shape and fills it with batch-dyed polycarbonate. The Ghost Chair group by Phillipe Starck are another example. Other Kartell accessories are also new takes on everyday items. With some of the most iconic creations of the 20th century, Kartell continues to impress everyday while blending the lines between furniture and art.

Masters Chair by Kartell, Set of 2
designed by Philippe Starck

Available at a discount when you buy a set of 4!

If there is a true heir-apparent to the mid-century furnituremasters, it's Frenchman Philippe Starck. How fitting then that Starck would take three of the most iconic chairs of the mid-century movement and assimilate their silhouettes into one masterful chair. Kartell presents to you Philippe Starck's latest masterpiece, the Masters Chair.

The Series 7 by Arne Jacobsen, the Tulip Armchair by Eero Saarinen and the Eiffel Chair by Charles Eames weave into a most engaging and sinuous hybrid. Standing on four slim legs, the Masters chair is roomy and comfortable. The back of the chair is its most fascinating feature characterized by the fullness and empty spaces created by the curvaceous crisscrossing lines of three different backs which descend to merge into the edge of the seat.

Designer

Philippe StarckFew designers have had an impact across the world of design like Philippe Starck. From modern furniture, restaurant interiors, to architecture, the French icon has made lasting impressions to all those exposed to his work. However, his most influential designs have been in the world of staggeringly original mass produced consumer goods. Renowned for his collaboration with the Italian design and manufacturing firm Kartell, Mr. Stark's most famous works include the Ghost Chair series, the Bubble Club group, and the Masters Chair. Despite all his past achievements, he is still highly active in the world of modern design.

Comments about Kartell Masters Chair, Set of 2:

The perfect chair for style and comfort. I have them outside inside a lanai. Black. I use them with the Eos table in white, and Eos black bench on one side. If you are rather on the heavy side I don't know how well they will fare as they seem lightweight, and the seat is rather small. I'd check weight restrictions. A man waist size 38 sat in it no problem. The arms are a little high, check with your table opening. Mine hit the table when being pulled out, scratching the plastic a little because the clearance is less than one inch. Arms 26" and my table clearance 27". I don't mind because I love the chairs.
