At A Glance:
The Nook Bed takes what could have been an ordinary platform bed and throws some pizzazz on it. Platform, check. Padded frame, check. Sturdy upholstered headboard? Double check. The Nook Bed's headboard flows seamlessly into its frame, with two angled extensions of the headboard providing both strength and visual intrigue. It's enough to make you want to leave the lights on.
Nook is available in twin, full, queen, and king size versions.
What's To Like:
It's a small thing, but the padded upholstery on the Nook Bed's frame is a nice touch, protecting you from discomfort as you get out of bed in the morning.
What's Not to Like:
If you have pets that shed, you'll find yourself vacuuming the Nook Bed's frame to remove hair. That isn't such a bad thing, since you ought to do that periodically anyways. With any bed, you'll either have to dust or vacuum. Pick your poison.
The Bottom Line:
The Nook Bed by Blu Dot is a simple, quirky upholstered bed with just the right kind of style - the kind that makes you sit up and take notice.

Comments about Blu Dot Nook Bed:
Used for a twin bed. Love the style and color. The platform is rounded and padded so perfect for kids. It is also relatively low to the ground which was nice when my daughter was learning not to roll off the bed when sleeping.

Q:What are the different fabrics made of? Is the mattress in the picture a standard queen? Because it seems too small for the platform.Asked on 10/10/2013 by jthur
A:Chalk 70% Acrylic/30% Wool
Smoke 77% Cotton/23% Polyester
Dark Roast 70% Acrylic/30% Wool
Guacamole 80% Acrylic/20% Wool
The mattress in the picture is a queen and should cover the slats but leave a border around the bed so you can see the fabric.Answered on 10/10/2013 by Melanie from SmartFurniture.com
Q:will I be able to fit this bed into a house with a small stairwellAsked on 3/3/2013 by Claudia from Oakland CA
A:Yes, the Blu Dot Nook Bed packs down into 3 boxes: headboard, feet/rails, and slats. Contact the sales department for box dimensions for the size Nook Bed you seek. We can be reached at 888.467.6278 or firstname.lastname@example.org.Answered on 3/4/2013 by Melanie from Smart Furniture
Q:How cleanable is the material and what do you recommend be used?Asked on 11/3/2011 by Anonymous
A:Vacuuming is recommended for the upholstery. You can remove the base and side boards for dry cleaning, but make sure they are aware of the wool blend and to be delicate in cleaning and handling.Answered on 11/8/2011 by Anonymous
Q:I have a Tempurpedic mattress with the free-standing adjustable motorized platform. Are the bed slats removable, and will my platformt unit fit inside the frame dimensions of this bed?Asked on 6/30/2011 by Anonymous
A:Yes, the slats are removable. We can measure the inside of the frame, no problem. Since nobody else but you is probably interested in reading about this topic let's discuss privately. If you don't mind, email email@example.com with your platform dimensions, bedding color and desired bed size. Or just the first and last, we probably don't need to hear about your Grandma's quilt. Until then!Answered on 6/30/2011 by Melanie from Smart Furniture
Q:Is the center of the bed solid wood or slats? We are trying to decide if we can use this bed without a boxspring but do not want the mattress to sink/bow. Thanks!Asked on 4/2/2011 by Liz from Pasadena, CA
A:The center of the bed has slats. If you have a standard mattress you should be fine without a box spring. If you have a tempurpedic mattress you may need a sheet of plywood to prevent the mattress from squishing through the slats. Either way the bed will look best if you don't use a box spring. Excellent taste by the way!Answered on 4/4/2011 by Melanie from Smart Furniture
Q:How tall are the feet? And what is the height of the bed to the slats where the mattress sits?Asked on 12/6/2010 by Anonymous
A:The height from the floor to the top of the slat system is 9.38 inches and the feet themselves measure 6.75 inches.Answered on 12/15/2010 by Melanie from Smart Furniture
