Spoon Table by Kartell

A folding table that doesn't give up any style to achieve its practicality. Spoon has a honeycomb aluminum surface that is a mere 15 mm thick. The thermoplastic legs are are a guarantee of elasticity and resistance. Antonio Citterio and Toan Nguyen designed the knee mechanism of the Spoon Table to fold easily while maintaining a unique silhouette.

About the Manufacturer

About the Designer
Antonio Citterio was born in Meda in 1950. He graduated in architecture from Milan Polytechnic and opened his studio in 1972 where he started his architectural and interior design business. Between 1987 and 1996, he worked in association with Terry Dwan and, together, they created buildings in Europe and Japan. Among his most significant works: the restyling of a block in the historical centre of Seregno, Esprit headquarters in Amsterdam, Antwerp and Milan, industrial plants for Vitra, in Germany, and for Antonio Fusco, in Milan. In 1999 Antonio Citterio and Partners was founded by Citterio and Patricia Viel, a multidisciplinary practice for architectural design, industrial design and graphics. Antonio Citterio and Partners has taken part in a great number of international competitions, winning many. Since 2006, Antonio Citterio has been a professor at the Accademia di Architettura dell UniversitÃ‚Â della Svizzera Italiana and, since 2007, he has been a member of the Italian Design Council. In 2007, he received the Royal Designer for Industry award from the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce in London.Toan Nguyen
Toan Nguyen was born in Paris in 1969, and graduated with honors in Industrial Design at ENSCI-Les Ateliers, Paris, in 1995. After professional experience in several design offices in Paris, Barcelona, and Milan, he began his collaboration with Antonio Citterio in 1998. Since 2000, he has managed the design department of Antonio Citterio, becoming design partner in 2004 and working with international companies such as Alfa Romeo, B&B Italia, Kartell, Metalco, Technogym, and Vitra. In 2008, Toan Nguyen launched his own design office based in Milan, with a branch office in Paris, collaborating with leading international companies based in Italy, United States, Germany and Spain.
