The Ekornes Stressless Sofa is the logical and necessary extension of the Stressless Recliner, and a beautiful compliment to it as well. In their mission to make your den or living room the most comfortable, supportive and attractive space in your home, Ekornes has taken all the features and design components that make the recliner great and put it into an adjustable, customizable, individual, superb sofa. Developed in 1993, the Ekornes Stressless Sofa has become an international design touchstone, an ingenious, winning combination of ergonomic technology, elegant adjustment, and simple handsome design, the sofa has been the most comfortable and supportive piece of group furniture for nearly two decades.
About the Manufacturer
Comfort is the primary goal of the entire Stressless line. Since 1971, when they first introduced themselves to the world, Ekornes has been interested in bringing the world's most comfortable seating experience to a wider and wider audience.
Ekornes is a Norwegian company, and they made their name and reputation on the Stressless line of home furnishings. While the Stressless Recliner is undoubtedly their most significant product in a historical sense, the Ekornes Stressless Sofa concedes no ground when it comes to the three most important aspects of home furnishing design; comfort, support, and style. In this sense the sofas are not redundant products, but serious and inspired variations and continuations on a theme; total comfort, total relaxation, total balance and fit. The principles of the Ekornes lines were laid out in detail with the first recliners, but only with the advent of the Ekornes Stressless Sofa has the fullness of their vision come into clear focus.

The preferred choice of those who want a soft, authentic look in leather that breathes well.
Cori is a corrected, pigment improved and grain embossed upholstery leather. Cori has a substantial body and a distinct pebbled grain. Most of its natural marks are removed. Cori has a tip-shine which adds depth and character to the surface. Some colors have two-tone/ tone-on-tone effect. A protective layer of lacquer simplifies cleaning.
Noblesse is the most exclusive leather quality offered by Ekornes. It is a full grain semi-aniline, which means that it is dyed all the way through and has only a thin protective topcoat. This allows the leather to keep the natural softness and lustre that characterises a first-class furniture leather. A natural material like Noblesse retains its original grain and structure. Minor color nuances and skin blemishes may also occur. Such individual details could lead to slight variations in different parts of the furniture cover. Although the topcoat provides a measure of protection, Noblesse is the most delicate of the leather qualities that Ekornes uses. It absorbs moisture easily, and is more vulnerable to wear and tear, heat, sunlight, spills and perspiration. Regular maintenance is important to keep its attractive appearance.
