Victoria Ghost Chair by Kartell
Set of 2
designed by Philippe Starck
An armless sister to the Louis Ghost Chair, Victoria holds her own by being colorful, more adaptive, and just as odd and visually arresting. The backing of the chair is the same clear plastic medallion, the form still a clash of old world style and new world material.
What's to Like:
The personality of this chair can change at a whim, with all the different colors of translucent plastic you can choose from. Go with black, orange, yellow - they're all ghostly, all works of modern art, all their own unique energy.
What's Not to Like:
There are no arms on these chairs, unlike the Louis Ghost Chairs. So if you're looking for a more comfortable and luxurious side chair with the same look, look there.
These are very pretty chairs with an almost intellectual fascination. They're a mash-up of the modern and the classic, the new age and gilded one.
This is a chair born of classic lines. Its rounded backrest recalls the shape of antique medallions, while its seat is linear and geometric.
Victoria Ghost is made of transparent or colored polycarbonate and is formed in a single injection mold. It is stable, comfortable, robust, and scratch and weather resistant. Once more, Kartell has created a chair using technological know-how they have mastered over the years in their production of designer articles that make the company world renowned. Stacks 7 high.

About the Designer
Few designers have had an impact across the world of design like Philippe Starck. From modern furniture, restaurant interiors, to architecture, the French icon has made lasting impressions to all those exposed to his work. However, his most influential designs have been in the world of staggeringly original mass produced consumer goods. Renowned for his collaboration with the Italian design and manufacturing firm Kartell, Starck's most famous works include the Ghost Chair series and the Bubble Club group. Despite all his past achievements, he is still highly active in the world of modern design.

Contrary to the common idea, products in plastic materials are highly ecological for the reason that they can be recycled (with the exception of polyurethane, little used in Kartell products). Thus, Kartell products can be easily recycled. In order to simplify the recycling process, the various components of Kartell products can be easily separated and reduced to elements made of one single material. Moreover, the plastic parts of each product carry, clearly printed, an identification mark to determine the correct classification of the different kinds of plastic and their effective recycling.
