This is just a little followup to let you know the stool arrived here in perfect shape in December. I'm not really lazy when it comes to thanking people for gifts but if you remember this Eames stool was going to my Grandson and I finally made it up to Salt Lake City this past week. He absolutely loves it !! It took it to his room and told me he would take good care of it because "It came from Grandpa". He also sat on my lap later in the day and told me "there is room for all three stools in his room". Obviously he has great taste in not just Grandpa's. "On June 13th, I placed an order for my first office chair: a Herman Miller Aeron. A bit pricey for me, but felt it was worth the investment for the amount of hours I planned being seated in the chair growing my business.
Weeks rolled by and my chair arrived. The assembly was a breeze, and while the functionality of the chair was flawless, there were blemishes in the graphite that soured the excitement, and left me feeling swindled. Before purchasing the chair, I researched many online retailers weighing the pros and cons, and found SmartFurniture to be among the best in customer support, and satisfaction. So, I chose SmartFurniture knowing they'll have my back if I'm dissatisfied with my purchase. Armed with optimism, I called the customer support team about the chair, and it was determined in the following days Herman Miller would send a new chair. Weeks went by, and my new chair arrived fully assembled. I was very busy at the time, and it wasn't until a week later I got the chair out of the box. The chair appeared flawless. I was happy and ready to put it to work, but while adjusting the chair to my dimensions I discovered, to my disappointment, the components allowing high adjustment of the left-hand armrest have been assembled too strong, and required nothing less than summoning the strength of Hercules to budge.
Once again, I had to call on the customer service team. They kindly facilitated communications with Herman Miller to find a solution, none of which worked, before it was determined Herman Miller would send replacement components for the arm rest.
Now it's September 19th, I've replaced my arm rest, and I now have exactly the chair I hoped for. I commend the customer service team for a job well done! It's no doubt the wish of every retailer to have problem-free transactions, but anything can go wrong. Within these dilemmas, however, are opportunities for the company to shine, and still provoke a positive experience.
Herman Miller chairs aren't SmartFurniture's product: they're not the manufacturer, and by all rights SmartFurniture could have washed their hands clean of this and sent me to Herman Miller's support team. Instead SmartFurniture stood behind the product they sold me, and helped remedy the problem.
To everyone who was part of my epic, 3 month ordeal, thank you very much for the understanding and help. I knew from the beginning I was doing business with the right people: you didn't let me down."

It seems like it'll wear great, can't wait to find out. And there is a zipper on the backside edge of the cushion.
